Welcome

Thank you for visiting the official website of Jennifer Byrne!
Photos, Media and Updates, Oh My!
My apologies! After a long time coming, I have finally updated my site! Unbeknownst to me, my content server (for lack of a better term) went away and my site required a “site migration”. What is a site migration? Well, essentially it is when the content server goes out of business/is taken over/goes away and freezes your site against any updates! So like our friendly fowls taking to the sky at winter, I have migrated and can now happily reintroduce my site!
So Where Were We? Ahhh, yes!
Way back in 2010… After a little culture shock (The French REALLY get snobby when you struggle to order a sandwich in their native tongue. And no, there are no points for even trying. Just a cold shoulder and no sandwich.), a little health scare (Bronchitis? Pneumonia? Pericarditis?) and a new found love for Ramen (No, no, no! The Ramen in Japan is different! And heavenly… oh my mouth is watering for a spicy ramen soup in Ikebukuru!); I returned from Japan in one piece, and am SO happy to be back home. I am thankful that I made some fantastic new friends, saw some gorgeous parts of the world I would never have had the opportunity to see before and got to play Kim in Miss Saigon. Yes. That’s right. Kim, the Vietnamese girl in Miss Saigon. In Japan. I immediately called my agent and told her to submit me for every single production of Flower Drum Song, Pacific Overtures and The King and I. Yes!! I am expanding my ethnicity!!! Oh! And after performing the role of Mame, send me in for ANY age range as well! I can do it all! Just being able to say that made it all worth it! Check out the Media section for vocal recordings from The Broadway Musical Company 2010 Japan Tour for a little taste of the show!
Then, in the summer of 2011, I ventured out to Theatre By the Sea in Rhode Island to perform the roles of Annabella Schmidt, Pamela and Margaret in The 39 Steps. It allowed me to flex my accent muscles but also because it was a straight play (AKA a show that is just acting, no singing or dancing for all those not familiar with the term) I knew it would be a unique experience. And was it!! Hurricane Irene, a gas leak, evacuations… nothing could dampen the spirit of this cast and crew! And I think the production photos definitely show how much hard work we put into the show but also the absolute JOY we had working together. I have never worked with three more fiercely talented men who never ceased to make me laugh. My heart broke when the show closed but I hope to play with them again soon! Check out the Photos of “39” but also feel free to wander over to the Press section; I guess Rhode Island liked the show too, a plethora of sparkling reviews are there for you to read.
Thank you again for visiting and I hope you come back for a visit sometime soon.
